Front Page Opinion
Love him or loath him Alan Shearer is hanging up his international boots. Have the media driven him out? Has "fan power" had a part to play or has Shearer simply burned himself out. Whatever the answer he has provided 28 goals for his country and has the potential to become the third highest scorer in history. The big question is....Who has the ability to succeed him as striker and captain. I feel Shearer has been an inspiration for his country and will be sorely missed and hard to replace. The media, the fans will live to regret the pressure put on Shearers shoulders....
